The National Medical Support Notice (NMSN) is a two-part notice sent to employers from a local child support agency. Its purpose is to ensure that children receive health care coverage when it's available and required as part of a child support order.

Employers and health plan administrators are required to complete and comply with the National Medical Support Notice (NMSN) and respond within 20 days of receipt. Please use this site for information about National Medical Support Notices and to conveniently respond online!

Welcome to the New Jersey National Medical Support Notice Processing Center website!

The new look and feel of the New Jersey National Medical Support Notice (NJ NMSN) website has been designed & developed with you in mind, providing the same user-friendly tools you've come to expect, along with enhanced levels of accessibility and responsiveness.

The NJ NMSN team encourages all employers to register for online access to complete their National Medical Support Notices online. Electronic submissions increase the accuracy of information being reported while decreasing processing times. Federal and state law requires all employers and plan administrators who offer dependent coverage to make health care coverage available to eligible children.

What is included in the NMSN?

Part A of the NMSN includes a Notice to Withhold for Health Care Coverage (Health Care Notice), the Employer's Response form, and instructions.

Part B includes a Medical Support Notice to the Plan Administrator, the Plan Administrator's Response form, and instructions.
